Wish you was in Florida but your not? Have a nice Florida Pina Colada!!

Wanting a nice cocktail and wishing you had the beauty of being in Florida well heres one for you guys...

3oz. Pineapple Juice
2 scoops vanilla Ice Cream
3/4oz Dark Rum
2 splashes of Orange Juice
3/4oz Cream
2 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend for one minute or until smooth!!

Ice Cream Cake!! Yum!!

Who doesn't love to cool off on a hot day by eating some ice cream?! Everyone in our house loves ice cream...So I found a recipe for a ice cream cake....Its a Oreo Ice Cream cake and its out of this world...That is if you like ice cream and oreos :) The reason I loved this recipe because its simple actually that is what its called Simple Oreo Ice Cream cake...Here is the recipe that I found :

• 30 oreo cookies, crushed (plus more if you’d like to sprinkle some on top)
• ½ c melted butter
• ½ gallon ice cream (any flavor), slightly softened
• 1 jar hot fudge sauce/or carmel topping which ever you like the best 
• 2 – 8 oz. containers cool whip, softened

Mix melted butter & oreos.  Press into a 9×13 inch pan. Soften fudge in microwave.  Smooth softened ice cream over cookie mixture.  Smooth fudge sauce over ice cream.  Spread cool whip over the ice cream.  Sprinkle with additional crushed oreos.  Freeze at least 2 hours.  Keep frozen until 15 minutes before serving.

Black Cats aren't always bad luck

We have had Ginx for a while now and even though some people don't like black cats because they are superstitious and believe they are bad luck...he has always brought good luck to our family :) Sometimes we often wonder why our indoor cats can get upset, or even bored. Well we have to keep them entertained! One thing we always make sure to do is buy him toys....Something that gives him the opportunity to scratch, catch, or attack lol!! We also keep a indoor window seal completely clear just for him to get in the window to enjoy the sunshine and to bird watch! So if you have a kitty always make sure they are entertained and healthy! Also something else I would suggest is always have a scratching post this helps in keeping your furniture and wall boards safe if they are not declawed.

Being Healthy and Living a Full Life

Ladies I know we all are guilty of forgetting or sometimes putting off our Wellness checkups However it is very important that you always remember to have these done. If you haven't scheduled your appointment with your family doctor then Please do so.  Always remember the importance of detecting cervical cancer, along with breast cancer or any other problems that may occur. It is very important to keep yourself regularly checked and examined to obtain good health and live a long productive life!  Also if you are not familiar with doing your own breast exams please make a effort to ask your doctor to show you how to properly do this! This is very important.

Minties for our little Furry Friends :)

I received a freebie in the mail about a week ago for the Minties Dog Treats and my little puppy loved them! I also got a coupon for a $1.00 off...Minties are for our little furry friends and helps their breath and helps their teeth and gums! I am always for something that helps out the doggy breath :) One thing you don't want to do is ignore your dogs teeth! This will lead to gingivitis! One of these doggy bones a day will help with their teeth! So I went and purchased these because he loved them so much and I have already noticed a big difference in his breath! So if your looking for a great treat for your dogs that not only will they enjoy but will help their little teeth and gums then this would be a great one to try!!

Parenting 101

I know with having a pre-teen sometimes discussing certain issues  are not always easy. However I must say one thing as parents we need to make sure we teach our children. We shouldn't leave it up to someone else. The reason I say this is because as parents we need to make sure the lines of communications are always open. I would not want my child to feel as if he/she couldn't come to me to discuss anything. I know sometimes its not easy to answer those questions they have like "where do babies come from" or the all famous question of "how did I get here" But it is our responsibility to teach these children to facts of life and to be honest and open so they are comfortable coming to us with the slightest problem or question. I often see people stating I'm not my childs friend I am there parent. Well to me its okay to be a friend and a parent. I like to think me and my 11yr old have a very close wonderful relationship. I like the fact that before he runs to his friends or someone else that he comes to me and says Hey Mom I want to ask you something. So its okay to be a friend, but don't forget you have to show your a parent too! You are the one that brought them into this world and you should be the one to help them along their journey!!

Make up always a chore?!

It always seems like hunting for that perfect color or not so heavy feeling makeup almost feels like work! Well ladies I can tell you that if you don't mind to spend a little money I have a great suggestion for you. It cost a little over $40.00 however it will be the perfect blend to your skin tone. I went into Sephora the other day to do some shopping and when I am there I always check out the consultants that are there because they usually give you great samples and great advice when shopping! Well the lady that was there offered me a sample of Cover Fx Natural Oil Free Foundation! The 1st thing I was impressed with is Oil Free...I suffer from oily skin anyway and who wants to add to that by putting foundation over top of it...This product is heaven sent! Games just for kids? Not they are for us Hip Parents too :)

I have a 11yr old that is a complete game fanatic! Its so hard some days to pull him off his games! He has a Wii, a xbox, and a playstation! You know hes even got me into playing games now...Since we bought the Wii I always thought well games are for children. Actually they are for the whole family and makes for a great family fun night! We have Wii bowling where the whole family bowls of course I'm the coolest mom and let him win sometimes :) Seriously though we have a wonderful time! We always just recently bought a monopoly board game and I never was into board games until I started playing Monopoly! One of the best games ever. So for the parents that think games are for kids you should check some of the games out they make for great fun! Especially the dancing games like Michael Jackson...What mom or dad doesn't want to show their kid what great dance moves they have :) My kiddo ususally laughs til he cries but its all in fun :)

Lupus Walk

I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with Lupus however I was diagnosed with it last year. I am one of the fortune ones who only have Cutaneous Lupus which only affects my skin and not my System. However Lupus is a Auto Immune Disease. I never once thought I would be one that couldn't be out in the sun since our family lives outdoors. However luckily thanks to spf sun screens and hats and long sleeve shirts I am able to live some what a normal lifestyle :) Its hard dealing with Lupus but I recently found out that there are 100s of people just like me in Kentucky. They have a Lupus Walk actually in Louisville Ky to help raise Lupus Awareness. Its a wonderful walk with people just like myself. You get people to donate towards you walking which I was able to raise a $100.00 which wasn't much but it was enough for me to get a great Walk for Lupus Tshirt. They are wonderful people who are so inspirational and supportive so I suggest that if you have a family member, friend, or just want to volunteer to take a walk for a great cause look for a Lupus Walk near you or your hometown!!

Summer is here time for being outdoors :)

Finding family time isn't always easy but today we have had a awesome day. Our family loves any outdoors activity so today we decided to load up the van and go fishing! Who doesn't love fishing! Being out doors and being able to catch your own dinner :) I know almost sounds a little barbaric right?! My 11yr old had a great time out here on the lake today! He's always wanted to drive the boat and today he got his chance! He was tickled that mom let him drive the pontoon!! As it started getting later in the day the little critters sure do get nippy when your on the water but the great thing about that is we had our OFF with us :) Over all we had a wonderful day being outside and just enjoying each others company...Needless to say my 11yr old passed us all up by catching the most fish....12 bluegill and 3 catfish for the day! So congratulations big guy on your big catch :)

Loving Influenster!

I am recently new to Influenster and I am having so much fun! Let's say you go out and purchase a product (Lets say you buy a new toy for your child) and  within the next two days it breaks! Now as a parent and a consumer of course you wish you was able to influence others not to buy the same product.
